May The Force Be With You

A few days ago, I bought tickets to the Saturday afternoon showing of The Last Jedi in the IMAX theatre. Assigned seating makes movie going much better, because of weather and travel delays, knowing one had a seat reserved made the delay easier on everybody.

Having begun my Star Wars career as a young child in the 1970’s I have been a loyal Star Wars fan, the whole of my life. Being raised on Joseph Campbell’s view of the world and cosmos, the universe that George Lucas created, formed a belief system the world over.

It made for us a world that was unique unto its own.

The Last Jedi, does not disappoint. The old characters from the original trilogy make their appearance, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, C3PO, R2D2.

It was only after the showing did I remember that Princes William and Harry had cameos in the film. I would not have thought to ponder them, during the many action scenes with Storm Troopers.

I made a concerted effort NOT to read any review or tweet from the opening night of the film, so it would not taint our showing. Which was a good thing.

Leia Organa was beautiful in her final appearance in the Star Wars Universe. I will only say that, in the end, we were left with more questions than answers. The movie was a smash hit and well worth the price of assigned seats.

If you grew up within the Star Wars universe, then Go See This Film !

We Remember General Leia Organa.
